By 2025, millennials will make up 75 percent of the global workforce. In addition to soon becoming this majority, millennials are also working their way up to comprise a large portion of management and leadership positions.
According to a global generations study by Ernst & Young, 62 percent of millennials say they manage the work of others (compared to 65 percent for Gen X and 46 percent for boomers), a percentage that will only increase as boomers enter retirement age. (All boomers will be 65 years or older by 2030.)
As a millennial myself, I’m excited to see our generation enter the leadership space. But the generations before us have years of leadership experience under their belts and we newcomers are fresh to our leadership journeys.
